  No, I am not dead
Busy, but not dead. I have been busy updating (sort-of) my diary blog, and forgetting about this one.

The review. There is no reveiw, yet.

Pandora's Star by Peter Hamiliton

You can find a much better review (for now) here. I must apologize. When I have more time I will post a more comprehensive review.

This was a FANTASTIC read. I am very excited, and I cannot wait for Judas Unchained.

The book was long, very much so. There are a lot of characters in this book. I think it was around chapter 6 before you met the same character for the second time. Many of the characters are very realistic, bringing you into their lives. A couple of the characters, however had the opposite effect. They were very 2-D, and I would find myself scanning very quickly through their chapters. There also was a lot more "background" on the goverment of the universe, that I didn't really care about. All of the political mumbo-jumbo just seemed to detract away from the actual story.

I don't expect to have much time for the next month, though. I am participating in NaNoWriMo. So, I will be cranking out a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. In my spare time, I will get that review out for you though. It will provide me with a much needed respite, while still honing my writing skills.

Hey, it isn't too late to join the fun! Just go over to the website, sign up, and write your own crappy novel!
50,000 words in 30 days - Good Luck!! You are a better woman than me. I know two other people who are going to attempt the feat. I might next year. Right now I have a 175 pg masterpiece (snicker) to work on for my degree. Blah.
